The mural was installed on September 5, 1939. On September 28, 1937 the cornerstone was laid. The Post Office Dedication ceremony was held on November 11, 1937 (James M. Dannell, postmaster). The Grayling Post Office was established on January 19, 1874 with John E. Corbet as its first postmaster. The Grayling, MI Post Office uses zip code 49738.
